Class Description

This is a very special collaberation between TAG Children's Museum of St. Augustine and myself. It is an acting, steam and creativity camp. Campers can spend half the day with me honing their acting skills and then the other half they can challenge their science and creativity skills with TAG. Hosted by Radiant Nocatee, we will be in side by side rooms. This camp is kept very small, no more than 12 students per group, so we can really personalize the experience. With younger students(7-9), we begin camps with games and exercises and move into theatre and film scripts they know and love. Since there is no performance at the end of this week, this is a chance for them to become comfortable performing in front of others, learning what a script is, how to bring it to life and the basics of on-camera and theatre acting. Students will be asked to memorize scenes outside of camp. For older or more experienced performers, we will also start with games and exercises but move into on-camera acting and technique. We will also draw from Film and T.V. scripts they are familiar with. They will even get a chance to vote on what they work on. We will study what it means to be an actor, what acting actually is, the difference in Film, T.V. and Theatre acting styles, camera basics such as eyelines, marks, blocking, and understanding close-up, master and medium shots, how to make lines our own, develop a character, connect to our own emotional inner life to create beautiful and interesting performances. Most of all, this camp will be a blast, and we will leave them craving more! After care is also available. Come join me for an amazing week of delving into the incredible world of film and television acting! I can't wait to meet you all! Fabulous!
